Testimony from the Congo
"Dear Pastor Brown,
     We were really excited that you wrote to us. Your BAMA Bible Institute materials started our Bible School. It helped me a lot even in my mission work because the materials are well written, understandable and Biblically true. Our students enjoyed the discussions and even if the teacher is not fully experienced, he can still learn a lot from the book.
     By the grace of God, we are able to translate already almost all the first year books, from English to French. We can send you copies of our translation and we hope we did not do injustice to your good work.
     Our vision is to finish all translations by 2- year period and if you permit we will start a virtual seminary to put your books translated to French in the internet so that French speaking countries can gain access to it for free by enrolling in our Bible school.
      I learned a lot from your books, and God allowed that during my discipleship classes, young men proficient in English and French volunteered to translate the books for free. Of course I am giving them small love gifts for their fare and allowance....Just pray for us Pastor. Will you be able to come to Congo just to inspire our Bible students? We will prepare a Soul winning conference for you.... Brother Lloyd Baker knew that we came to Congo by faith and only deputated for 8 months. “...this past week, we began our Bible Institute. On Tuesday evening we are studying the Doctrine of the Bible and on Thursday evening we are studying the Doctrine of God. My heart was greatly blessed by how many men responded to our Institute. Currently we have 26 enrolled. This past Tuesday and Thursday were great times studying the Bible. I cannot even begin to describe the joy it was in seeing the men's faces light up at beginning to understand even just a little bit of these two doctrines. Teaching these men this past week was like giving water to a thirsty soul. Literally they drank up every word that was spoken on those two nights. Please pray for these men that they will not become discouraged. Many of them do not have a very good education. They can read and write, but even that is hard for them sometimes. “My, oh, my--what a wealth of valuable material!!! I think only a missionary on a foreign field could appreciate all the hard work, time, effort, and coordination that it must have taken to put all of this together. Thank you!! Thank you!! for making such a curriculum available to missionaries. I'm sure it would have been much easier for you to "keep this to yourself," but only heaven will tell of the blessing and rewards gained from your sharing this with others. ...I have showed some of the materials to a few of our nationals, and they are very eager to get started. The ministry where I am at did have a Bible College several years ago, but when the missionary left, the Bible Institute also no longer existed. It's kind of sad that they had no one to step in when the missionary left and continue the training. As a result, much was lost in the meantime. Again, I am very thankful for your work on this project--it was a huge project to undertake, and then to make it available to other missionaries is a TREMENDOUS and WONDERFUL blessing!! I pray the Lord will use this material to help train the national men here--there is such a need here, as I'm sure everywhere, to train the nationals to lead their own works. There are very, very few national men preaching for the Lord here, and yet it is so needed. I can't say thank you enough, but thank you again.”

“Dear Brother Brown, I want to thank you for the work you did in making the Money Book, "How to Get More Money from God" available to us. I taught it lesson by lesson in our Sunday School class at Trinity Baptist Church in Legazpi City. Boy, can you believe this? Our tithes and offerings doubled. One fellow testified how that he had really never given the tithe to the Lord, but now he wanted to be obedient to God and receive His blessings. When I took over the church after the split, the church was three months behind in paying it's bills. For the first time in ages we have lots of money in the church bank account enabling us to do a lot of necessary repairs on the church grounds. Again, thank you and God bless you.”

Note of interest: We received word from two Filipino Pastors (BBF) who were being supported by U.S. churches. After using our "How to Get More Money from God" materials in their churches, they wrote all their supporting churches in America and asked them to stop sending US dollars for their works. They reported the people in their churches acted upon what they were taught about Bible stewardship. Their churches are now self-supporting and growing as never before, necessitating that they build larger and more buildings to take care of the people.

“Many times I have meant to write you. But right after you left, we got busy on getting ready to start our Bible Institute. We started in June with I believe 15 students. We now have that on Tuesday night and 18 or more on Thursday night. It has been a blessing. Right now it is just for our church members and boy has God ever used it to help grow our people. Thank you for your help and encouragement. After the personal evangelism class, many of our men now deal with people on Sundays and out on soul winning. Doug has four to five men that go with him every Saturday night soul winning besides the Bible extension classes and Saturday afternoon soul winning. .....
